JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optometric Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing exceptional patient care and supporting the daily operations of our optometry practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical office procedures, excellent communication skills, and a passion for helping patients achieve optimal eye health.

EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records systems, particularly Epic, is highly desirable.
  • Experience in patient care within an optometric or optical environment is a plus.
  • Knowledge of retail sales techniques and experience in sales are beneficial.
  • Background in pediatrics is advantageous but not required.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with patient intake, including obtaining medical history and updating electronic medical records.
  • Provide support during eye examinations, including preparing patients and assisting the optometrist as needed.
  • Manage front desk operations, including scheduling appointments and answering phone calls.
  • Educate patients on proper contact lens care and eyewear options.
  • Maintain an organized and clean work environment, ensuring all equipment is sanitized and ready for use.
  • Handle retail sales of optical products, including eyeglasses and contact lenses, while providing excellent customer service.
  • Utilize medical terminology effectively to communicate with patients and staff.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure a smooth workflow and high-quality patient care.
