Duties - Conduct comprehensive eye examinations to assess visual acuity and detect any ocular abnormalities - Diagnose and treat various eye conditions and diseases, such as glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration - Prescribe and fit corrective lenses or contact lenses based on individual patient needs - Provide pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing eye surgeries - Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to manage patients’ overall healthcare needs - Educate patients on proper eye care practices and answer any questions or concerns they may have - Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using electronic medical record systems (such as Epic) - Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in optometry through continuing education and professional development Experience - Minimum of 2 years of experience as an optometrist preferred - Experience working with diverse patient populations, including pediatrics, seniors, and individuals with special needs - Proficient in using electronic medical record systems (such as Epic) for documentation and patient management - Strong sales skills to effectively communicate the benefits of eyewear options to patients - Familiarity with medical terminology related to optometry and eye care - Excellent interpersonal skills to provide compassionate patient care and establish rapport with patients - Knowledge of optical principles, lens materials, and frame styles for proper fitting of eyewear We offer competitive compensation packages, including benefits such as: - Medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage - Retirement savings plan options - Paid time off for vacations and holidays If you are a dedicated optometrist looking to join a dynamic team in providing exceptional eye care services, we would love to hear from you.
