Optometrists - we are very excited to be recruiting for our fantastic practice at Boots Opticians in Southampton Above bar.
We are looking for a full time optometrist with minimum 2 years experience and MEC’s qualification working alternate weekends.
You will be working alongside our brilliant teams of 8 which consists of 1x CLO, 1x RO, delivering excellent customer services and screenings to the wider population. We have equipment like the OCT and Phoropter in both of our testing room.
Lots of parking nearby at local shopping center’s. Good public transport link for both bus routes and train with a big station just 10 minutes walk from the practice. Patient demographic is very varied. Southampton is a university town so a lot of students as well as longstanding customers.

Responsibilities

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Leading clinics and providing specialist care and advice to all patients
  • Testing eyes using the latest technology whilst maintaining outstanding patient care.
  • Delivering enhanced services dependant on the store needs
  • Responding to emergency triages
  • Working with external healthcare professionals
  • Providing clinical support to team members on the shop floor
  • Providing advice to patients using your clinical knowledge
  • Keeping up to date with latest clinical practices.
  • Working closely with senior stakeholder

The essential skills or experience needed to succeed in this role:

  • GOC registered (or expecting to be in the next 6 months)
  • Additional registration with the relevant NHS body
  • Drive to deliver excellent patient care.
  • Excellent communication and organisation skills
  • The motivation to ‘See What’s Possible’ for our teams, customers, and patients
