POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a licensed and dedicated Optometrist to join our practice in Ontario. This role involves delivering comprehensive eye care services, diagnosing and managing ocular conditions, prescribing corrective treatments, and educating patients all in alignment with the standards set by the College of Optometrists of Ontario.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution, plus full licensure by the College of Optometrists of Ontario .
Demonstrated experience or familiarity with a broad range of optometric equipment and diagnostic practices.
Strong communication skills, especially in explaining diagnoses, treatments, and patient education in a clear, compassionate manner.
SUMMARY
This role is essential for ensuring the highest quality of vision care—to perform accurate assessments, deliver effective treatments, maintain compliance with Ontario’s professional standards, and provide compassionate patient education.

Pay: $100.00-$120.00 per hour

Perform thorough vision and ocular health assessments using specialized equipment (e.g., ophthalmoscopes, slit lamps, tonometer).
Identify and manage conditions such as myopia, astigmatism, glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy. Refer patients to ophthalmologists or other healthcare providers when needed.
Provide prescriptions for eyeglasses, contact lenses, and approved medications to address vision issues and manage ocular health.
Advise patients on visual hygiene, preventive eye care, contact lens use, ocular health practices, and lifestyle factors affecting vision .
Keep detailed patient health records including examination results, treatment plans, referrals, and follow-ups .
Maintain compliance with the regulatory guidelines and standards of practice as defined by the College of Optometrists of Ontario—for instance, regarding referrals, infection control, shared care, and documentation procedures.
Keep knowledge and techniques up-to-date through continuing education and staying informed about advancements in optometric practice and technology .
