SBH Health System is a major provider of eye care services to the patients of the Bronx. We are seeking a temporary full-time primary care optometrist with potential for permanent hire to join our extensive team of optometrists, ophthalmologists and ophthalmic assistants/technicians. The successful candidate will be providing comprehensive eye care to patients of all ages, including pediatrics and adults.   This is an exciting opportunity to work in a diverse patient population and join an established full-service optometry and ophthalmology team dedicated to the highest quality of care.    Our main eye clinic in the SBH Ambulatory Care Center has seven complete eye exam rooms; two work-up rooms; diagnostic testing rooms containing HFA3, Heidelberg Spectralis, Topcon Maestro, A& B-scans, optical biometry, corneal topography and other devices. An optical dispensary is on-site.   In addition, we provide eye care services within the Pediatric Clinic in the Health & Wellness Center.   Role Summary:  • Practice independent New York State full-scope medically focused optometry for patients of all ages  • Evaluate, treat and co-manage patients with on-site ophthalmology subspecialists • Effectively refer and coordinate care in an interdisciplinary hospital setting with other departments • Examine urgent walk-ins  • Opportunity to participate in ophthalmology and optometry resident training  • Support growth of the department in a collaborative and friendly work environment     Qualifications  Graduate of an accredited school of optometry • Licensed as an optometrist in good standing with the New York State Education Department • Successful completion of an Optometric Residency (e.g., Primary Care, Ocular Disease, Pediatric, etc.)  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus
