Education & Experience: High School Diploma or GED equivalency Have 2-3 years customer service experience (Preferred) Language Skills: Fluently read, write, and speak the English language. Ability to Speak the Navajo language (Preferred) Ability to answer phones and use computer systems. Math Skills: General math skills required. Reasoning Ability: Ability to reason and creatively problem solve. Interpersonal Skills: Ability to interact with co-workers, managers, administration, and medical staff in a professional and courteous manner. 2-3 years customer service experience Computer Skills: General computer skills required, as well as knowledge and ability to use the Microsoft Software suite. Furthermore, the Employee must be able to learn new software applications, such as UNHS’s Athena software. Requirements Man the front desk and cordially answer incoming UNHS phone calls, addressing questions and scheduling appointments. Manage the providers schedule i.e., assist patients in scheduling appointments, rearranging scheduling in instances of no show or emergency cases and helping provider to block off their personal time off. Also, maintaining a smooth flow of patients from waiting room to exam room. Assist in covering all front office/data entry duties including but not limited to: registering patients, verifying insurance and documenting and collecting pertinent information. Have a working understanding of vision insurance coverage and plans and helping patients to understand their coverage. Have a working understanding of frames, lens products and contact lenses. Maintain good working relationships with frame vendors. Selecting and ordering frames appropriate for our clientele and maintaining and invoicing inventory. Assisting patients select appropriate frames and lenses. Filling out order forms and placing orders with appropriate labs. Contact fittings with new contact wearers. Repairing and fitting frames. Collect payments/copayments at the time of service or when a patient comes in to pay on account. Help maintain a peaceful and orderly working environment, showing respect and courtesy to patients, co-workers and providers at all times. Complete any other office duties assigned by manager/supervisor. As a Tribal Organization the Utah Navajo Health System, Inc. (UNHS) treats patients with high risk and underlying chronic medical conditions. Therefore, UNHS requires its employees to show proof of immunization prior to their employment with UNHS or during their employment. Below is a list of immunizations/vaccinations required to be employed or to continue employment with UNHS. The immunizations/vaccinations include but not limited to following: MMR (Measles Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella): Documentation of two MMR vaccines (OR) Documentation of MMR titers. Complete Hepatitis B vaccine series (3 doses), documented proof of titers indicating immunity, or a declination that may be signed upon arrival. Proof of up-to-date PPD skin testing, if previously negative (OR) Proof of positive PPD skin test with the most recent chest x-ray and treatment history. Tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis (Tdap). Varicella titers, history of varicella or varicella immunization series. Influenza vaccine for the current year. COVID-19 vaccine Any other vaccinations as requested.
