  • The Prevention lead for Optometry will have overall responsibility and management for the implementation of a successful national prevention training programme across Wales.

Although this post has been advertised as a fixed term appointment, NHS staff will only be offered the appointment as a secondment. If you wish to apply as a secondment opportunity, you must have your line manager’s approval. This post may be extended or made permanent at the end of the fixed term/secondment period depending on available funding and business needs.

  • Scope, optimise and compare existing activities, ensuring a multiprofessional national approach.
  • Drive implementation and engagement of prevention training for Optometry in Wales.
  • Ensure quality and consistency in approach in alignment with national health priorities.

Demonstrate effectiveness using an evidenced based approach.
