The Optronics Technician will undertake maintenance and through life support on a variety of complex Opto-electronic systems that come through the Optronics Service Centre (OSC). The Optronics Service Centre (OSC) in Rydalmere, provides the commonwealth critical in-country through life support for their fleets of Hand-Held Thermal Imaging Cameras, Laser Range Finders/Designators and Vehicles Sighting Systems To be successful in this role you must: • Be hands on and possess strong technical problem-solving skills; • Apply sound time management principles to ensure delivery schedules are achieved; and • Ensure that key activities are performed accurately and safely. Focussed on meeting deadlines with good time management and prioritisation skills; Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as a member of both the immediate team and cross-functional teams, supporting collaboration to achieve common goals The ability to work on own initiative when required GOOD TO KNOW Prior to being offered employment, you will need to complete pre-employment police and (role dependent) medical checks.
