More specifically, other duties include: Performs delegated scrub duties for the surgical team including table set up, instrumentation, first assisting, and counting of instruments prior to and after an operation. Handling of instruments, sponges, sutures, drains, dressings, specimens, and records. Ensure asepsis and safety. Assist the Operating Room Registered Nurse in providing patient care pre-operatively, intra-operatively, and immediately post-operatively Qualifications: High school diploma or GED Certified as a Surgical Technologist (OR) Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the State of Idaho with one year of surgical Technologist experience. Excellent verbal, written, and reading skills in English Must understand sterile technique and adhere to patient safety Must work effectively with a team Be within 30 minutes of hospital when on-call rotation Essential Job Functions: Regular and predictable attendance is required Regularly required to stand for long periods of time; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or twist Frequently required to perform moderate to complex manipulative tasks Frequently able to move, push, pull, lift, or carry up to 50 pounds Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and peripheral vision Must comply with HIPAA and patient privacy Must wear PPE when situations require Must submit to COVID-19 testing as required by CMS and other regulatory agencies according to FCMC policy Work Environment: FCMC operates 24 hours per day each day of the year: operational needs of departments may require that you be available to work all shifts, weekends, and holidays to meet the needs of the patients Potential exposure to blood, body tissue and fluids, contagious diseases, and hazardous waste Occasional exposure to bodily injury, loud or unpleasant noise, unpleasant odor, and emotional or physical stress May be required to work day or night in a confined environment or variation of different temperatures The Location: Located in southeast Idaho, Franklin County is surrounded by the beautiful Rocky Mountains, giving ample opportunity for outdoor recreation.
