We are seeking a full-time, experienced Circulating Registered Nurse to work in the Operating Room at our Ambulatory Surgery Center in Louisville, KY. Our nurses play a critical role in taking care of our patients throughout pre, post and intra-operative care. The ideal candidate: Strong working knowledge of how to run a code, start IVs, and support difficult airways, with the ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations. Demonstrates ability to quickly assess and problem solve complex situations. A commitment to the delivery of safe, effective, and quality patient centered care. Responsibilities Provide comfort and reassurance to patients and support the patients’ right to privacy, dignity, and confidentiality. Confirm that proper techniques and procedures are used according to accepted standards of practice. Use a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to patient care, assisting surgeons and surgical teams to care for a patient before, during, and after surgery. Perform thorough pre-operative patient assessment required in the outpatient setting. Perform safe and individualized nursing care for the patient in the immediate post-operative/post-anesthesia period. Perform thorough post-operative patient assessment prior to discharge of the patient. Perform discharge education to patient and care giver. Provide nursing care to meet patient needs related to surgical condition and type of anesthesia administered. Documenting all aspects of patient care accurately and promptly in the electronic medical records system. Assists in managing inventory of supplies, drugs, and equipment to maintain availability and stock levels in the postoperative area. Performs other duties as assigned to support the mission, values, and strategies of CPIhealth. Requirements Valid Registered Nurse (RN) licensed in the State of Kentucky. BLS and ACLS certification. 2 years of hospital or ASC experience in perioperative nursing, including pretesting, pre-operative, and post-operative care preferred. 2 years of experience working in an Operating Room or Emergency Room preferred. Detailed oriented, reliable, and able to multi-task in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment. Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, anesthesia, and perioperative nursing protocols. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide compassionate care to patients and their families. Proficiency in using electronic medical records systems and other medical software. Pay Rate: $36/hour and up, DOE Schedule: 30+ hours per week, 4-5 days per week No weekends, evenings, or on-call.
