JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, maintain, and optimize Oracle databases. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring database integrity, performance, availability, and security, while supporting development and operational teams.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
3–8+ years of hands-on experience as an Oracle DBA.
Strong knowledge of Oracle versions [e.g., 12c, 19c, 21c].
Experience with RMAN, Data Guard, Oracle RAC, ASM, and OEM (Enterprise Manager).
Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL.
Familiarity with Linux/Unix systems and shell scripting.
Understanding of ITIL and database lifecycle management.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or Oracle Certified Associate (OCA).
Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) or AWS RDS for Oracle.
Exposure to performance tuning and capacity planning.
Knowledge of other RDBMS (e.g., MySQL, SQL Server, PostgreSQL) is a plus.
Familiarity with DevOps tools and CI/CD practices.

Responsibilities

Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle database software.
Create and manage database objects such as tables, indexes, and views.
Monitor database performance, tune SQL queries, and optimize database systems.
Perform regular backups and recovery using RMAN or other tools.
Implement and maintain database security, including roles, permissions, and encryption.
Manage database replication, failover, and high-availability setups (e.g., Oracle RAC, Data Guard).
Apply patches and perform upgrades in test and production environments.
Automate routine tasks using shell scripts, PL/SQL, or scheduling tools (e.g., Oracle Scheduler, CRON).
Support developers with SQL tuning and schema design.
Document database processes, standards, and best practices.
Ensure compliance with data governance and security policies.
Troubleshoot and resolve database-related incidents and outages.
