ORACLE EBS TECHNICAL CONSULTANT / ORACLE EBS DEVELOPER

On behalf of our public sector client, we are seeking an experienced Oracle EBS Technical Consultant / Developer with a solid background in R12x applications. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and supporting Oracle EBS solutions while ensuring seamless integration with other internal and external systems. Your technical prowess and problem-solving skills will ensure optimal system performance and continuous improvement, making a measurable difference for our client.
This is a long-term opportunity that goes till the end of March 2029 with 1 year of extension option. This is a hybrid work in Ottawa. Must hold Secret level of Security Clearance.

MANDATORY SKILLS

  • Must have successfully completed a post-secondary degree, diploma, or certificate in IT or Software Engineering from a recognized Canadian or equivalent (EG: WES) university or institution.
  • Must have a minimum of ten (10) years of design and development experience within the last twelve (12) years, in Oracle eBusiness suite of applications R12x in both Technical Developer implementation and in a production support role.
  • Must have a minimum of eight (8) years of experience within the last ten (10) years in analysis and programming in Oracle eBusiness R12x.
  • Must have a minimum of eight (8) years’ experience in Developer Suite 6i / 10g (Forms and Reports Builder 6i/ 10g) in an Oracle eBusiness environment (12x or higher).
  • Must have eight (8) years of experience in Oracle SQL, PL/SQL languages in an Oracle eBusiness environment (12x or higher).
    Security Requirement: Secret
    Assignment length: 48 months (12 months of optional extension)

Responsibilities
  • Communicate with clients and project teams;
  • Design, build, unit test and support solutions;
  • Document system specifications and detailed design documents based on business requirement documents and related documents including unit test plans and deployment notes;
  • Design, develop, test, and deploy reports, interfaces, conversions, and extensions - including workflows;
  • Conduct system functional testing, user acceptance testing and post-production support within companies’ documented guidelines;
  • Ensure compliance to release management, change management and configuration management processes;
  • Automate and maintain integration and data exchange processes of Oracle EBS with other internal and external systems;
  • Communicate with vendors (Oracle, FreeBalance) for the purpose of reporting problems with the COTS systems and finding solutions to these problems;
  • Answer questions related to applications maintenance activities raised by companies’ users, management and other authorized companies’ representatives;
  • Suggest improvements to the overall operation of the applications being supported;
  • Respond to ad-hoc requests from the companies’ Work Authority or, in consultation with the companies’ Work

Authority, the client (this is not ad-hoc report generation, which responsibility falls to the client);

  • Upgrade and improve system documentation as required;
  • Advise and assist companies’ users in taking preventive and corrective action for erroneous data on relevant databases and files;
  • Assist and collaborate with Corporate DBA (Database Administrator) team as required in all database related activities including production and non-production database instances and ensuring that backup procedures are understood;
  • Inform companies’ users about new procedures introduced in relation to applications maintenance activities, where these have a visible impact on system processing;
  • Apply patches received from the vendors to the various systems;
  • Maintain a current working knowledge of technical methods and procedures that would normally be used in the execution of applications maintenance activities;
  • Save all project related documentation into the official corporate repository (SharePoint as we migrate from RDIMS).

Work with functional users in providing technical support for the user reported issues and enhancement request; and

  • Analyze, Design, Develop and provide solutions to the issues logged in Service Desk system.
