Description
MISSION The department is in charge to manage a key part of the infrastructure such the core of the servers, databases, middleware, storage and OS. Within this domain, Oracle & PostgreSQL DBA has a relevant role, as this component is part of our baseline and cover a large part of our databases scope. This position is focus on the Administration of Oracle and PostgreSQL databases in European scope contributing to ensure the DBA services provided to the business are stable, resilient and performant. The DBA team is responsible for production support of all Oracle and PostgreSQL databases. Support activities will include: Maintenance and support of day-to-day business in the database team Implementation of database services after commissioning Create new databases and environments in an extended RAC environment Set up services for applications considering specifics such as not RAC capable Guarantee reliability or proactive participation in measures to avoid production downtime Solving production downtimes competently and promptly Conversion of Oracle CDB/ PDB databases Analyzing and defining cardinalities for old applications on RAC Participation in release assignments Provision of participation services from the database team in projects, e.g. Move2Cloud and in regulatory requirements as well as POCs Systematically analyze security gaps and develop solutions Analyze and fix performance issues Optimize database monitoring Set up backup and ensure fast recovery times through regular testing during environment setup Onboarding new DB users to CyberArk Support of the Oracle Apex application as well as participation in the patching of these Participation and further development of the Database Information System (DBI) Readiness for weekend assignments and on-call duty required Systematically evaluate the DB parameters across all databases and script necessary changes to further automate Provide Views and Selects for database information systems to implement systematic quality checks Further develop Ansible scripts for inline patching and extend them for PDB Participation in patching Oracle databases and, if necessary, other DB technologies Ensure Git versioning Standardize Oratab and Oracle Home settings Adapting existing scripts for Cloud Move Further automation for environment setups The candidate selected must contribute to preserve the required performance for a very demanding service with many critical databases running on it. As part of this role, the candidate must contribute to keep a high availability environment. During the day-to-day activities, the candidate selected must actively collaborate with technical peers to share experiences and needs, with the target being to collectively define solutions to enhance the stability or increase the performance of the services in scope. She/he must provide clear communication to the management team and when required or requested. We are looking for people with focus on enhancing her/his core skills sets, develop new ones and share the knowledge with other colleagues. To work following ITIL methodology is part of the daily basis in all the areas. ROLE REQUIREMENTS Sound and long-standing knowledge of database technologies and their operating processes (Oracle, PostgreSQL, ideally also MSSQL, MongoDB and Elasticsearch) Good experience with Oracle Exadata Cloud Customer Very good knowledge of shell and ansible scripting Good knowledge of Git Very good knowledge of ITIL High technical understanding in IT infrastructure services Ideally, in-depth expertise in the development, operation and sourcing of data center services in the banking environment Several years of experience in IT migration and/or development projects, ideally cloud-based and/or experience in migrating databases in a data center move desirable Good knowledge of common project management methods (classic, agile) Expertise on High Availability environments Team and collaborative work to develop and deliver appropriate solutions skills Experience of delivering strategic priorities within strict timelines Customer service-oriented skills Very good communication skills in English (oral and written); knowledge of French is a plus On site presence (hybrid mode) and on call support are expected COMPETENCES General Skills we expect: Eager to learn Analytical mind-set Be able to write a clear report of your activities Understand and follow written instructions and procedures Be able to provide updates to existing documentation and procedures Very good communication skills and capacity to provide feedback Teamwork – we work together and not as individuals Adherence to the team schedule Capacity to maintain focus on given tasks Be proactive Respect the processes
