We need someone with strong Oracle database management skills who can be placed full-time, onshore, for a minimum of six months. Utility experience is not required, but we do need someone with a decent foundation in Oracle DB.
Below is a summary of the specific skills we’re looking for:
Hands-on experience with Oracle 19c database
Strong proficiency in PL/SQL including packages, procedures, triggers, and queries
Experience developing and maintaining stored procedures and database scripts
Ability to support and troubleshoot legacy system integrations
Familiarity with middleware platforms (e.g., webMethods) that interact with Oracle
Understanding of cybersecurity compliance in database implementations

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the Manager, Technology & Security Operations, the Integration and Database Specialist plays a critical role in supporting the reliability, performance, and security of Operational Technology (OT) applications through effective system integration and database management. This role is responsible for
developing and maintaining integrations between OT systems and enterprise applications, managing SQL Server and Oracle database environments, and ensuring the cyber security compliance of all implementations. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with strong problem-solving skills and a passion for continuous learning, capable of working independently while collaborating closely with IT, engineering, and operations teams.

KEY SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Oracle 19C database experience/XQuery Packages/Procedures/Triggers/Queries
  • Microsoft SQL Server experience/MySQL/SSRS
  • Strong understanding of APIs (REST/SOAP), messaging systems, and data transformation (XML,JSON).
  • Software AG webMethods 10.x or later.
  • Experience with JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, Python is an asset.
  • Understanding of OT systems such as ADMS, Intergraph and ESRI GIS.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft .Net Framework (Including WPF) and Microsoft Visual Studio.
  • Proficiency with XML and XSD.
  • Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL.
  • General knowledge of GIS concepts, and experience with Intergraph or ESRI GIS software.
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities
  • Support and maintain OT system applications to ensure availability, reliability, and optimal performance.
  • Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot middleware integrations between OT systems and other enterprise/field systems (ex. GIS, MWFM, Genesys, ADMS, etc.)
  • Monitor and manage SQL Server and Oracle database environments.
  • Develop and maintain stored procedures, triggers, and database scripts to support business data flows.
  • Analyze, comprehend, and support legacy system integrations.
  • Document technical procedures and workflows for OT applications, integrations and database management activities.
  • Technical Lead for multiple upgrades, data migration, and implementation projects, coordinating with vendors, business stakeholders, and the IT infrastructure team.
  • Support system patching activities for critical OT systems in coordination with vendors and IT infrastructure team.
  • Provide after-hours support as required for critical OT integration or application issues.
  • Ensure cyber security compliance in the implementation, integration, and support of OT systems.
  • Gather and comprehend project requirements from both functional and technical perspectives, and collaborate with stakeholders including the IT infrastructure team, external vendors, and internal SMEs from other all lines of business.
  • Develop and support approved ad-hoc reporting and data extraction requests from lines of business to drive informed decision-making.
  • Support end-users of both third party and in-house developed applications.
  • Works with OIS team and others as part of a development team to customize and extend various
    3rd party software products such as, but not limited to, Intergraph G/Technology, Oracle Database, MWFM, and ERSI ArcGIS.
  • Develop and maintain custom applications as part of a team using Oracle PL/SQL, SQL, SSRS, MySQL, webMethods, Linux (Basic Commands), and various other programming and scripting languages as required.
  • Keep skills current and independently acquire new skills by leveraging online resources.
