    Grower (Orchids) Schedule A     ABOUT BEVO FARMS LTD. Bevo Farms Ltd is the largest supplier of propagated plants in North America, providing greenhouses, field farms, nurseries, and wholesalers across the continent with healthy, vigorous, pest-and-disease-free plants.   Bevo operates three sites in the lower mainland of British Columbia and two facilities in the province of Alberta.   SUMMARY As the Grower (Orchids), you will lead planning and direction of day-to-day greenhouse operations, transplanting, production and growing tasks as it relates to finished orchid production.  You will work closely with the Director of Orchids, to coordinate efficient use of resources to flower orchids in their final phases of maturity and reach Bevo’s quality standards for finished plant production.   RESPONSIBILITIES * Establish effective procedures to coordinate and manage all aspects of receiving live plant material, grading, watering/fertilizing, lighting, temperature control, sticking, sleeving and shipping.   * Performs routine detailed inspections of crops for timely identification of problems and growth control.  Provides training to personnel to perform required duties and to ensure systematic back-ups are developed. Maintains and reviews with the Director of Business Development and Director of Orchids the necessary records and corrective actions taken for quality non-conformance. * In conjunction with the Director of Operations, and Supervisor team, plans to obtain/assign greenhouse personnel to achieve proper labour force to workloads, training, ensuring adequate safety and supporting strong workforce motivation. Weekend shifts may be required from time-to-time to support operations. * Reviews daily and weekly greenhouse production performance and communicates as necessary to senior management and sales staff, on variances to schedule or productivity. Maintains records and growth logs for climate settings, changes, spraying, biological introductions, irrigation cycles, and other information relevant to each product. * Ensures sound hygiene and housekeeping practices are in place and maintained throughout the facility. * Conduct research and development including water quality analysis, process improvement, and other activities to advance, create efficiencies within the growing function at Bevo.   * Take proactive steps to develop the skills in assigned personnel.  QUALIFICATIONS * Proven success managing orchid flowering cycles and optimizing fertigation, lighting, and climate conditions. * Skilled with greenhouse control systems (Priva, Hoogendoorn, Hortimax) and crop data analytics. * Strong IPM knowledge, including biological control integration and pest/disease diagnostics. * Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve production issues quickly to maintain quality and yield. * Hands-on experience leading teams in efficient floral finishing operations. * Self-starter who can assess crops, act decisively, and deliver operational impact.
