This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact through teaching, worship, and pastoral care in a federal correctional setting. We are looking for a compassionate, knowledgeable Rabbi committed to serving a diverse Jewish population within a secure institutional environment. ✡️ Position Overview The Rabbi will deliver monthly Jewish services at four facilities within FCC Beaumont (USP, FCI Medium, FCI Low, and the Federal Prison Camp). Duties include: Conducting 48 one-hour services per year Providing pastoral counseling when appropriate Performing SHU rounds at all institutions Teaching core Jewish subjects, holidays, rituals, and ethics Supporting the spiritual needs of incarcerated Jewish individuals ✡️ Required Qualifications To qualify, applicants must have: ✔ Ordination from a recognized Jewish seminary or equivalent authority ✔ Demonstrated leadership within Jewish congregations, chaplaincy, or religious education ✔ Letter of endorsement from a local synagogue, Jewish board, or religious authority ✔ Knowledge of a wide range of Jewish topics including: Shabbat High Holy Days (Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur) Torah study & trope Jewish law (Halakha) Kashrut Pesach, Sukkot, Purim, Hanukkah Jewish ethics (Tzedakah, Tikkun Olam) Jewish prayer services (Shacharit, Mincha, Maariv, Amidah, Shema) ✔ Strong communication, teaching, and interpersonal skills ✔ Ability to work safely and professionally inside a correctional institution ✔ Ability to pass a federal background check, fingerprinting, and security clearance ✡️ Ideal Candidates We especially welcome Rabbis with experience in: Prison chaplaincy Military or hospital chaplaincy Multidenominational Jewish environments Teaching adults in diverse cultural settings Pastoral counseling ✡️ Compensation & Contract Details 💼 Contract Role 💵 $90 per hour/session 🕒 48 sessions annually (approx. 4 per month) 📍 Federal Correctional Complex Beaumont, TX 🛡 Full federal security orientation and clearance provided ✡️ What You Will Need to Submit Applicants must be prepared to provide: Current resume Copy of rabbinic ordination Endorsement letter from religious authority Two professional references Completion of required federal credential form (we will provide) ✡️ How to Apply If you meet the qualifications and feel called to this work, we’d love to hear from you. submit your resume and ordination documentation. ✡️ Make a lasting impact.
