Job Summary Picks merchandise loads or stacks products on carts and/or pallets and engages in packing and wrapping products and materials to protect them from damage during shipment. Requirements Skills and Qualifications Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions Possess basic mathematical skills Think independently and show a sense of urgency Primary Job Duties Reads customer orders to determine items to be gathered Accurately and efficiently assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or carts Accurately records the number of items picked and reports any discrepancies to their immediate supervisor Inspects products prior to packing and wrapping and places rejected products aside. Efficiently packs products for shipping Accurately scans products being packed and notifies supervisor of any discrepancies Checks all orders to ensure accuracy. Loads boxed product on pallets and wraps for shipping ensuring proper shipping information is on the pallets Operates company machinery as applicable to department and according to all operating and safety instructions Keeps assigned working area in a clean and orderly condition Constructs boxes according to required dimensions and order needs Ensures a steady supply of boxes is available for packers and the shipping team Loads and secures load bars for outbound shipments Provides assistance to the shipping department as needed, including staging and loading pallets Other duties may be assigned Work Context Physical Demands/Environment: Regularly required to stand in one place; walk; use hands and arms, to handle, or reach; talk/communicate; ability to hear and see; ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Frequently required to stoop, kneel or crouch; use color vision; work near moving mechanical parts or objects. Occasionally required to stand in one place; use color vision; Occasionally exposed to fumes and/or chemicals; subject to vibrations; ability to move up to 100 lbs. or greater with team assist and/or equipment. Noise level ranges from moderate to loud.
