We are looking for an experienced Order Handling / Logistics Manager to oversee outbound order management for Linac Solutions (Unity, Linac, etc.), managing the Crawley-based Order handling team. As part of the Global Planning and Logistics management team, you will work closely with supply chain, manufacturing, procurement, regulatory, and quality teams to ensure efficient order fulfilment and compliance with key control tollgates (R2, R3).
This role requires a strong leader who can drive process improvements, optimise systems and workflows, and contribute to the logistics strategy. You will also be responsible for training and developing the UK logistics team while ensuring compliance with export and trade regulations.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL DO AT ELEKTA

Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

DEPARTMENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Day to day management and responsibility of order handling (commercial logistics) team in UK for team capacity, performance, recruitment and training.
  • Develop and maintain capability including trade compliance and export control to ensure operations are compliant with customs, regulatory and business needs
  • Promote a creative, dynamic, empowered, and open work environment, ensuring integration of the Elekta Values.
  • Ensure all procedures, work instructions and process maps relevant to the job are regularly reviewed and updated so that they reflect current working practices.
  • Represent interests of the order handling team within the Order Handling and Logistics function and related functions within BLLS.
  • Actively drive continuous improvement activities looking at opportunities to optimise internal processes and systems as well as external costs and service levels.

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Actively participate in order fulfilment and order processing to deliver against the commercial demand (including sales orders, upgrades) plan, taking ownership of total supply.
  • Member of S&OP process responsible for translating demand into the supply response and highlighting business risk and mitigations.
  • Critically assess new order intake to anticipate contractual obligations (delivery dates, conditions of supply, etc) in advance of shipment, asses, and challenge order fulfilment tollgates (R2, R3) to ensure quality and delivery performance.
  • Ensure process compliance for all relevant Third Party or Non-Standard Requests ahead of procurement.
  • Review and allocate commercial (and spares as applicable) material to customer orders and ensure assigned commercial (and spares as applicable) materials delivered to meet customer demands, maintain view of back orders, as needed, to ensure delivery completeness.
  • Unity; Manage and coordinate end-to-end order management activities including: Final mile warehouse, rigging services, coordinate with 3rd party suppliers, tooling delivery and return.
  • Monitoring and reporting of performance indicators including OTIF performance.
  • Ensure adherence to relevant trade compliance and export controls.
  • Perform shipment execution in alignment to the financing (i.e Letter of Credit, Bank Guarantee, etc) and or contractual (inspections, labelling, etc) requirements.
  • Working with logistic service providers ensure delivery against contractual terms balancing costs and service levels.
