JOB SUMMARY

The Order Management Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely planning, scheduling, and fulfillment of customer orders in a dynamic production environment. Leveraging expertise in customer service, product specifications, new product introduction, and manufacturing operations, this role supports both existing and new product lines with a focus on efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement.
Success in this role requires a strong command of order fulfillment processes, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate across functions to deliver high-quality outcomes that meet customer expectations and operational goals.

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Develop and maintain accurate product specifications for all customer orders, ensuring both stated and implied requirements are met.
  • Own and update cost models; serve as the primary liaison with Sales, Business Development, and Finance for pricing new requests.
  • Manage relationships with outsourcing partners to support and execute secondary processing activities.
  • Provide clear, consistent progress reporting to relevant stakeholders.
  • Maintain detailed and organized records and documentation according to quality standards.
  • Prepare and analyze production reports comparing actual performance to plan; identify and recommend improvements related to customer service, yield, production planning, and training.
  • Creation and maintenance of SAP production tracking and traceability

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing or product development environment, within an ISO 9001-certified organization or equivalent.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple teams and balance competing priorities to drive aligned outcomes.
  • Clear understanding of steps to document specifications and quality expectations to ensure that products are made correct the first time and accurate records exists when the product is to be made again.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in SAP within a manufacturing or production setting.
  • Experience with SharePoint and automated dashboard creation is an asset.
  • Project Management experience and certification is considered an asset
  • Lean Manufacturing experience or certification is also considered an asset.
