POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the supervisor and located 100% on site at 2 Walker Drive, Brampton, Ontario. As an Order Picker at Savaria, you will be responsible for handling, inspecting, and preparing the curved chair lifts products for shipment. You will work closely with the Quality Control team to ensure that products meet our high standards before they are packed and sent out. This role involves using various equipment, performing quality checks, and ensuring all products are accurately labeled and entered our quality system.

  • High school diploma and 2 years’ experience as an Order Picker/Packer.
  • Forklift License is an asset.
  • Previous experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment is advantageous but not required. On-the-job training will be provided.
  • Attention to detail for inspecting products and meeting quality standards.
  • Basic computer skills for scanning, printing labels, and data entry.
  • Effective communication skills for reporting issues and coordinating with supervisors.
  • Physical stamina for lifting and moving products.
  • Regularly lift and move items weighing up to 30 pounds.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures in English.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Must have the ability to perform all tasks with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with supervisors, managers, other stakeholders.
  • Should possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Responsibilities
  • Loads or unloads materials onto or off pallets, skids, or lifting device.
  • Pick parts, label, scan and pack them following the Bill of Materials.
  • Inspect the parts, rails for defects or issues and report any discrepancies to the supervisor.
  • Safely handle rails, parts, pallets using walkie or pump trucks and protect rails with foam padding.
  • Remove any rubber masks from rails as required.
  • Wrap products securely for shipping to ensure they are protected and packed.
  • Check and scan serial numbers for accurate tracking.
  • Print and affix labels to products and enter product details into the quality system.
  • Experience operating walkie or pump trucks is preferred.
  • Lift and handle products weighing between 20-30 pounds.
  • Perform physical tasks that include standing, bending, and lifting.
  • Assist in stock control and inventory counts, reporting discrepancies or potential shortage to the supervisor.
  • Place picked items in designated staging areas or load items for transport to production lines.
  • Maintain accuracy and organization within assigned picking areas.
  • Request stock transfers from the main warehouse to replenish the lineside stock.
  • Follow all safety protocols, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, complying with 5S and other workplace organization practices.
  • Other duties maybe assigned by the Supervisor and or Manager.
