Job Description To ensure that all operating standards are well understood in order to achieve the level of service established in the Departmental Operations Manual. To answer the phone within 3 rings and follow phone etiquette according to hotel standards. To explain, recommend, and offer any food and beverage items based on the meal period. To take all food and beverage orders according to the standards set out. To repeat the order at all times to ensure accuracy. To provide a high standard of quality and follow-up to ensure proper delivery on time as well as speedy service. To assist in mise-en-place and perform side duties during down time. To have a thorough understanding and knowledge of all food and beverage items on the menu. To have knowledge of all the Daily Specials. To have a thorough understanding of billing and cashiering procedures. Qualifications Minimum 1 year experience in Room Dining, preferably in a luxury hotel or fine dining setting. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Possess a strong sense of urgency Displays a pleasant and cheerful disposition Maintain a high level of integrity Demonstrates strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines Adapts in difficult situations, problem solves and makes decisions when necessary Shows eagerness and capacity to learn Command of the English language, both verbal and written.
