Your role at St John of God Ballarat We are seeking applications an Orderly to join our Perioperative team at Ballarat on a Casual basis. Working as an Orderly, you will be responsible for performing orderly duties in an efficient and friendly manner for the wellbeing of patients and caregivers. This position is also required to maintain the hospital in an aesthetic and sanitarily clean condition. The Position Perform all orderly duties which form part of Hotel Services responsibilities including transportation and transfer of patients, lifting of patients, mortuary duties, moving of furniture and setting up for meetings. Make deliveries as required including mail, newspapers and other correspondence, equipment and food, as well as the transfer of patient luggage and personal items. In accordance with the cleaning schedule and procedures perform cleaning duties as required keeping assigned areas clean, sanitary and aseptic including scrubbing, mopping, vacuuming and polishing. Respond promptly to requests that come verbally by telephone, prioritising own work within established routines and discuss any issues with the Nursing Supervisor. Report any faults, wear or breakdowns to Environmental Services Coordinator. Provide back-fill assistance to Switchboard as required. Successful applicants will have demonstrated experience in providing exceptional customer service, with excellent interpersonal skills. You will have cleaning experience, preferably within a hospital environment and able to work effectively in a team environment.
