Responsibilities

YOUR ROLE

As a valued member of the Workforce Engagement Team within the Organisation Development and Training Unit, you will work under the direction of the Manager Workforce Engagement to provide critical assistance across all functions related to the engagement and management of Youth Officers. This includes supporting strategic recruitment efforts, resource allocation, performance monitoring, training coordination, and the mobility of casual staff. Your efforts will play a key role in driving cost-effective, sustainable improvements in the efficiency and effectiveness of Youth Justice’s frontline workforce.
You’ll work closely within a dedicated group of four to deliver exceptional customer service to the Youth Justice workforce and providing high-level administrative and clerical support to the Workforce Engagement Manager.
This position is primarily based at the Yasmar Training Facility in Haberfield, with some flexibility for remote work. The role involves frequent travel to metropolitan locations and occasional travel to regional centres, depending on operational needs.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Maintain accuracy and efficiency in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Handle sensitive and complex matters with discretion, sound judgement and confidentiality.
  • Facilitate and coordinate assessment centres and other events for the recruitment of Youth Officers
  • Collate complex documents and information to provide timely and accurate reports using Excel and other systems
  • Use your excellent interpersonal skills to effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders including applicants, vendors, contractors, and staff across Youth Justice and DCJ.
  • Manage and maintain various records, databases and systems
  • Be responsible for providing seamless support for Workforce Engagement across a broad range of activities which include data entry, drafting correspondence in line with departmental guidelines, and research for project work.
