Job Description
AECOM is seeking an Organizational Strategist to join our growing Strategy+ practice. This opportunity is based out of Mississauga, with opportunities for hybrid work available.

JOB SUMMARY:

Strategy+ is AECOM’s design-led management consulting studio that operates at the intersection of Business Transformation, Organizational Dynamics and Place Strategy. We recognize the impact of changes to the built environment and how businesses operate on the organization. We’re specifically looking for someone that has a rare blend of real-world experience and theory, a passion for challenging traditional wisdom, the right mix of boardroom polish and grassroots hustle and is comfortable blurring the lines between the rigor of strategy and the creative.
You will join our multidisciplinary team of talented strategists, architects, data analysts, organizational psychologists, planners, and designers to support projects which encompass world class corporations, agencies, institutions, universities & colleges, and local and federal government.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

In order to be considered for this position, candidates must possess, at a very minimum:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, including but not limited to: industrial/organizational psychology, Business Administration, or Behavioural Science plus 4 (four) years of related experience including in organizational design, change management and strategic experience developing and implementing new ways of thinking and working.

Demonstrated equivalency of experience and education may be considered.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

We are seeking a T-shaped individual that asks thought provoking questions, are comfortable wading into ambiguous problems and can take ownership, are a critical thinker, and has specialized experience in one or more of the following areas and possesses a broader comfort and ability to work within many of these areas:

  • Organizational psychology, behavioural economics and change management
  • Workforce planning, operations and capability development, human resources
  • Management consulting and / or corporate strategy
  • Data analytics & modeling
  • User research, synthesis of qualitative data and generating insights

It would be a bonus if you have:

  • Membership to the Canadian Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (CSIOP)
  • Applied behavioural economics principles in past projects
  • Rolled out digital transformation strategies

Additional Information

Responsibilities:

  • Help clients to shape and act on change strategies for complex organizational challenges to capitalize on value-creating opportunities
  • Assess organizational capabilities, structures and processes and develop the future capabilities, competencies and critical roles that enable an organization’s 5-10 year strategy
  • Design and activate organizational interventions to encourage collaboration across siloed organizations
  • Generate new opportunities by thinking creatively about financial and operational impacts, risks, experiments, data and other drivers
  • Translate behavioural research into insights that can be easily communicated to your collaborators and clients to inspire possible solutions
  • Craft research plans comprised of interviews, workshops, analogous industries and organizations to understand an organization’s working dynamics and surface opportunity areas
  • Shape and act on change strategies that may start small, and lead to long-term impact at scale
