DESCRIPTION

We have an exciting opportunity for an Origination Intern to join to join our Origination team in Munich for a 6-month period starting either in June 2025 or January 2026. Applicants must be fluent in German and available for the full duration.
Hg’s dedicated origination function is responsible for identifying opportunities for new investments across our funds and portfolio companies, maintaining close relationships with relevant advisors and industry experts to find and get access to best potential targets first. The team goal is to position Hg as the most attractive potential investors and build close relationships with founders and CEOs of suitable targets.
In addition to primary sourcing, the team supports both pre Deal and post Deal by building out M&A pipelines and relentlessly pursuing add-on M&A opportunities for new platforms that we are backing. With a strong outbound focus, an important part of the role is to track and attend the most relevant industry conferences and events, to maximize our time spent with relevant founders and CEOs.
The team will work across all funds and portfolio companies while concentrating its resources on opportunities with the highest return for the firm.

EXPERIENCE:

Prior experience through internships in private equity, venture capital, and consulting or banking is beneficial

Responsibilities
  • Research and market mapping of new investment opportunities for Hg across the DACH Software landscape
  • Helping to build and refine pipelines across deals, portfolio companies and cluster work
  • Analysis of new companies to assess their relevance for Hg
  • Assist on outreaches to smaller targets
  • Review and attend industry conferences for relevant companies
  • Maintaining an up-to-date database of targets and opportunities within our CRM system DealCloud
