Description Orthodontic Assistant Location: Lehi, UT (Fairbanks Orthodontics) Reports to: Orthodontist & Clinical Team Lead Role Overview As a vital member of our clinical team, you'll assist the orthodontist and support staff throughout all phases of patient care—from initial consultations to appliance placement and ongoing treatment monitoring. Your role ensures every patient receives safe, personalized, and compassionate attention aligned with our advanced technology and high standards of care. Key Responsibilities 1. Initial Consultations & Treatment Planning Greet and prepare patients for their first visits. Assist with dental and medical history reviews and coordinate radiographs (X-rays) as directed. Ensure patients understand their customized treatment plan and address initial questions with clarity and empathy. 2. Treatment Preparation & Delivery Help the orthodontist during the placement of braces, aligners, or other orthodontic appliances—typically during appointments lasting around an hour. Verify patient comfort throughout the process and explain post-placement care. 4. Clinical Support & Equipment Management Maintain and sterilize instruments, intraoral cameras, digital X-ray machines, and other specialty tools. Track and restock supplies to ensure treatment readiness at all times. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a dental assisting certification program is preferred. -*** Some orthodontic experience preferred**—experience with intraoral cameras, digital X-rays, and appliance placement a plus. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with both kids and adults. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Friendly, empathetic demeanor and adaptability to changing schedules and patient needs.
