OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Orthodontic Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. This role involves working closely with orthodontists to provide exceptional patient care, ensuring a comfortable and efficient experience for our young patients.

EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is preferred, particularly in orthodontics or pediatric dentistry.
  • Familiarity with medical documentation, medical records, medical coding, and general dentistry practices is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of endodontics, prosthodontics, and four-handed dentistry techniques is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities
  • Assist orthodontists during procedures, providing chairside support and ensuring the comfort of patients.
  • Utilize EMR systems, including Waveortho , to manage patient records and appointments efficiently.
  • Perform X-ray imaging and medical imaging as required, adhering to safety protocols.
  • Maintain infection control standards and aseptic techniques throughout the clinic.
  • Take vital signs and document medical histories accurately in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
  • Educate patients and their families on proper oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
  • Collaborate with dental receptionists to ensure smooth patient flow and scheduling.
  • Stay updated on dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and advancements in orthodontic technologies such as 3D scanners.
