Job Details Level: Entry Job Location: ONS Greenwich 2100 - Greenwich, CT 06831 Position Type: Full Time Education Level: Masters Salary Range: $124,500.00 - $186,700.00 Salary Travel Percentage: Some travel between company locations Job Shift: Day Job Category: Health Care Orthopaedic & Neurosurgery Specialists (ONS) has an excellent opportunity for a full-time Physician Assistant (4/10-hour shifts) to join its growing team. The PA will provide clinical and surgical support to a busy, well established total joint surgeon. Office locations include Greenwich and Wilton, CT. This highly regarded practice is committed to delivering superior clinical outcomes and offers a collegial and supportive work environment. The position offers a robust compensation package with generous call pay and comprehensive benefits, including five weeks of PTO and a continuing education allowance. Responsibilities: • Performs and documents history and physicals of pre-operative patients. Prepares documentation for consent on admit • Assists with post-operative checks, including wound evaluations and dressing changes • Performs in-office procedures such as cast/splint placements and removals, suture removal and wound care, staple removals, and managing infection • Collects and/or prepares samples, such as wound cultures or joint fluid from patients for testing • Administers medications, orally or by subcutaneous injection when indicated • Renews medications, as needed for patients in office, phone, or electronically • Orders X-rays, laboratory tests, physical therapy renewals, CT/MRI and other diagnostic tests as needed • Makes post-operative calls to patients at home to check on status when indicated • Instructs and counsels patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens and patient teaching • Participates in Urgent Care coverage • Participates in rotating PA on call coverage, which includes after hours phone coverage • Assists physicians with fluoroscopic epidural injections when needed • First assists in all surgeries with attending physicians • Assures all films, X-rays, MRIs, etc. are up on monitors prior to surgeries • Handles all emergency room consultations and admissions • Provides quality in-patient care including rounds, progress notes, dressing changes, and follows lab results • Handles post-op orders for all cases covered • Coordinates discharge of patient including clinical resume and all other required documentation IND2 Qualifications Requirements: • Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program • NCCPA Certification • Licensure as a Physician Assistant in both Connecticut and New York • DEA and Connecticut Controlled Substance licenses • BLS and ACLS Certification • Minimum one-year orthopedic or surgical experience preferred, new graduates with an orthopedic surgery rotation are encouraged to apply • Ability to work well under pressure and multi-task • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills For more information about ONS, please visit www.onsmd.com.
