Job type: Full Time Shift: Days Hours: GENERAL DUTIES: Assists in the delivery of orthopedic care through application, removal, and maintenance of casts, dressings, traction, and other orthopedic devices. May instruct patients on cast care, crutch training, skin care, and hygiene, under the direction of the supervising physician. In addition, the orthopedic technician may scrub on orthopedic surgical procedures. The technician may have the responsibility for instrument preparation and assembly of orthopedic tables and equipment.   The orthopedic technician may NOT perform the following tasks: * Prescribe medication * Admit or discharge patients * Interpret lab tests, x-rays, or diagnostic studies * Place pins for skeletal fracture * Set/manipulate bones * Suture or tie suture * Clamp or cut tissue  Desert Regional Medical Center Hospital is committed to providing exceptional patient care in a supportive and collaborative environment.
