Description Job Summary: The Orthopedic Technician/Medical Assistant will provide clinical support to the Clinic Manager and Physicians by guiding the patient flow in and out of the clinic. Duties/Responsibilities: Observe patient’s condition, report observations or concerns to physician and records appropriate documentation in patient’s records. Obtain and record patient vitals. Assist with diagnostic procedures using aseptic principles in creating and maintaining a sterile field during procedures. Use technical skills regarding positioning, wound care, and dressings. Maintain stock items for examination and procedure rooms, forms used by clinical staff. Apply and remove casts or prepare DME for patients. Perform x-rays in the absence of x-ray technician Performs other job-related duties as required. Requirements Required Skills/Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to prioritize tasks. Ability to maintain confidential records, PHI. Proficient with EMR. Education and Experience: Completion of a certified Orthopedic Technology Training program preferred. Completion of an accredited medical assistant program Certification/Licensure – CPR certification for Healthcare Providers Minimum two (2) years’ experience in an Orthopedic setting. Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of standing and walking. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
