Company Description The Mozambique LNG Project is a strategic initiative of our client with an estimated cost of $20+ billion, including two LNG trains (13 mtpa total), LNG and condensate storage, marine facilities, utilities, and early site infrastructure. Onshore EPC contracts are valued at approximately $9 billion, with peak site personnel expected at 15,000. The Power Generation Area Manager leads the centralized power generation system of the LNG plant, with an installed capacity of ~300 MW ISO, managing a team of superintendents and supervisors. This is a rotational position in a remote onshore environment, requiring strong leadership and commitment to HSE and project excellence. Job Description Inspire HSE commitment among client and EPC contractor teams through leadership by example. Ensure full compliance with all HSE requirements to promote a safe and healthy work environment. Support the Project Manager in overall site management and act as a member of the Emergency Management Team. Lead and develop a high-performing team, fostering teamwork, trust, and professional development. Oversee the installation readiness of the 300 MW power generation system, ensuring construction and integration meet project specifications and international standards. Coordinate all construction activities in the area, including EPC contractor responsibilities, up to handover to the commissioning team. Build strong working relationships with EPC contractors to manage routine and critical issues effectively. Develop execution plans, method statements, and procedures to ensure safe, high-quality, and timely project delivery. Ensure physical presence at the site (directly or via supervisors) to demonstrate leadership in safety, quality, and construction oversight. Monitor construction progress, identify deviations or schedule risks, and propose mitigation strategies. Support precommissioning and transition to commissioning, including SIMOPS activities. Participate in peer reviews, technical assurance, and construction planning meetings to ensure proper follow-up and issue resolution. Monitor EPC contractor construction management processes and ensure alignment with project standards. Qualifications Degree in Engineering or relevant field; advanced degree or professional qualifications preferred. 20 years of experience, including 10 years at a management level in relevant fields. Minimum 10 years on large greenfield projects, preferably LNG liquefaction, GTL, petrochemical, refinery, or gas processing/feedstock plants. Deep understanding of safety, environmental compliance, work organization, cost control, scheduling, quality, and organizational risk management in large projects. Strong HSE culture and leadership, with the ability to influence critical decisions. Excellent communication and leadership skills, fluent in English; Portuguese or French advantageous.
