Responsibilities:
Byers Engineering, a MasTec company, is seeking a full-time Outside Plant Designer/Fielder in support of a large-scale Telecommunications project.

DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Understanding of Telecom, Fiber, and Outside Plant required
  • Knowledge of engineering tools including AutoCAD.
  • Relevant experience with utilities, cabling, or construction also considered
  • Excellent communication for daily interaction with various teams
  • Above average penmanship for hand-drawn field notes

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma and completed courses from technical school or community college preferred, but not required
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Qualify on pre-employment screening, including non-negligent driving record
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
  • Willing to be trained and adapt to changing industry trends- continue education for Engineering design and best practices
Responsibilities
  • OSP Fielder will complete site visits within given market
  • Take legible field notes for the design of construction drawings in aerial, buried, underground, and building applications and develop the most cost efficient fiber/copper network route design in accordance with customer specifications and guidelines.
  • Analyze work site and design requests then determine scope of work to be completed
  • Deliver projects within timeline and ensure quality of work completed
  • Pay attention to detail and communicate any concerns or updates with the OSP Designer
  • Interact with internal and external customers- represent Byers and our client in a professional manner
  • Adhere to all company safety practices and policies
