Fibre Deployment Supervisors are responsible for maintaining the daily performance goals of the project’s fibre deployment crews. Will not typically perform any fibre deployment themselves but is in charge of validating work performed by crews. A Fibre Deployment Supervisor must be versed in various fibre deployment techniques so that he or she may accurately inspect and evaluate the multiple scope elements on a project. Provide overall management for the deployment and documentation for all fiber related OSP equipment in the network build area.
This is working on building next generation fibre connectivity across the customers future netwrok and a good background in Civils work is a must. You are also required to have correct accreditation and/or licensing for this work
Responsibility
• Evaluating workmanship and quality • Ensuring the project schedule is being met • Reviewing any plan discrepancies in the field • Coordinating activities between subcontractors and resolving any disputes arising on the job site • Quality assurance and checks of completed work and work practices • Understand permit requirements and ensure these are met and reported correctly • Review plans and ensure all documentation is available as required • Manage day to day undertakings on site (labour, materials, PPE, HSE, permits, qualifications) • Management Authority for all fiber routes deployed in the creation of the fibre network. • Ensure all as built plans are correctly documented and passed to the customer • Work with deployment teams to ensure network is deployed according to design and plan • Track and record fiber capacity on key routes • Oversee the collation of relevant build progress documentation for senior management • Provide information to Operations to support localization of faults during Incidents, Change and problem management. • Manage team members’ performances effectively, including one to ones and identifying training and coaching needs • Carry out post installation quality audits across the team to ensure business and industry standards are adhered to • Conduct regular actions to ensure engineers are working securely and with the relevant safety equipment required
Additionally you should have experience in
• Fiber infrastructure • OTDR equipment for fault localization • Splicing/drop analysis for all fiber routes. • GIS systems for planning of routes • Documenting as built deployments. • Maintaining Geographical route documentation • Providing fiber capacity reporting to Operations and planning/deployment.
Construction supervisors must be extremely knowledgeable about the construction industry. Most supervisors have at least 5 years of construction experience. Typically, supervisors began their careers working in the field in a trade (e.g. civils contractor, cabling installer/ splicer). Supervisors should be familiar with various network construction methods and the Design elements of a project.
The candidate needs to have an understanding of working with MS office tool suite ( Excel, word, visio). It would be preferable the candidate spoke German but not essential.

Builds relationships with the customers onsite teams and project staff. Follows guidelines given to maintain client scope of work and the customers expectation of excellance in build and delivery practices. Works collaboratively with partners and Engineers, sharing knowledge of best practice and known efficiencies.
Key Skills & Abilities
• 5-7 years of Fiber management experience preferably in telecoms and other relevant technologies. • Network engineering in Telecomms environment. • Innovation • Microsoft office suite • Degree OR relevant experience • Understanding of technology. • Someone who thinks logically • Has a can-do attitude
