Description Zero dB Communications (ZdB) is a leading fiber optic full turnkey contractor headquartered in Spokane, Washington with offices throughout the West Coast specializing in splicing/testing and placing fiber optic cables. We are looking for an OSP Telecommunications Engineer that is experienced in the telecom field to join our fast-paced team. What’s in it for you? Weekly pay! Requirements Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team. Valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets company’s minimum safety standard. High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Preferred 1 year of experience in the Telecom field in a technician or construction role. Preferred 1 year of engineering experience in Telecommunications or a related industry. Strong computer skills with Microsoft applications and Visio. Develops/defines plans for the implementation of new Fiber plant construction or modifications to existing facilities. Perform analysis to determine the most cost effective and efficient manner of the placement of communications facilities. Familiar with NEC and NESC electrical and Telecom code requirements. Experience in both Aerial and Underground Telecom placement methods. OSP fiber design and planning construction. Familiar with PON and point to point fiber Architecture. Experience in GPS field data collection and ability to use hand-held GPS unit. Ability to work independently with solid problem solving and communication skills. Solid experience with researching, collecting and analyzing data. Strong attention to detail. Willing to work outside collecting field data. Schedule: Required to work a minimum of 40 hours per week. 8-hour shift, Monday – Friday. Willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed in addition to regular travel. Minimal in-state travel. Employment is contingent on successful completion of a pre-employment screen, to include a drug test and an acceptable driving record. This is a safety sensitive position.
Responsibilities
The OSP Telecommunications Engineer will develop plans for new fiber plant construction and analyze cost-effective methods for placing communication facilities. The role requires familiarity with both aerial and underground telecom placement methods and the ability to work independently in the field.
