SUMMARY

We are seeking a dedicated After School Site Coordinator to join our team at the Newport County YMCA. In this position, you will play a vital leadership role adhering to children and staff, while fostering a supportive and engaging environment for children and youth. Your contributions will help us fulfill our mission of building strong communities through youth development and healthy living.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum age of 18 years old.
  • 60 credits in a subject related to Education, Child Development, Human Services, or Recreation.
  • Proven experience working with children in an educational setting.
  • Strong group and employee management skills.
  • Ability to create inclusive learning environments for diverse learners.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • First Aid/CPR certification preferred
  • Passion for youth development and community service.
  • Ability to travel to local schools.
  • Afternoon Availability.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement daily curriculum activities for program success.
  • Manage after school activities and ensure a safe learning environment.
  • Support individual student needs through effective development strategies.
  • Collaborate with parents and staff to enhance student development.
  • Monitor student progress and behavior.
  • Facilitate recreational activities that promote health and wellness.
  • Participate in training sessions and staff meetings.
  • Promote an inclusive and encouraging environment for all children.
  • Supervising all support staff on site.
  • Ensuring a weekly schedule is created for program development.
  • Adhering to all DHS regulations.
