The Physical Therapist is responsible for one-on-one treatment sessions to evaluate/assess the needs of referred patients and formulating treatment plans. This position provides therapy services defined in treatment plans and works cooperatively with physicians, case managers, and adjustors. In addition to base salary, significant productivity incentives are available. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Evaluates the extent of the patient’s disabilities to determine appropriate treatment programs. Administers medically prescribed physical therapy treatment on patients suffering from injuries, or muscle, nerve, joint, and bone diseases, to restore function, relieve pain, and prevent disability. Reviews physician's referral (prescription) and patient's condition and medical records to determine physical therapy treatment required. Records treatment, response, and progress in patient's chart or enters information into computer. Instructs patient and family in treatment procedures to be continued at home. Requirements Bachelor’s degree is required. One year previous orthopaedic and manual therapy experience, preferred. Licensed Physical Therapist within the state of Colorado. Must be in good standing. Current Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification, required. Core competencies in job knowledge, communication, customer service, planning/organizing, quantity, and confidentiality. Acceptable motor vehicle driving history, valid and free from restrictions, and must have a valid driver’s license and appropriate vehicle insurance coverage. Ability to travel between all OCR locations. Physical Requirements This position works in a typical medical environment. There are regular interruptions and significant distractions to work including, but not limited to: phones ringing; staff walking by; patients to attend to; noisy conversations that carry; and answering questions asked by others. The person in this position must frequently communicate with patients, doctors, coworkers, and others verbally as well as utilizing various equipment such as telephones, cell phones, text/instant messaging, email, and other means. This position frequently moves around the clinic for up to 12 hours a day; and frequently assists patients in turning or sitting in a bed on a daily basis; as well as assists patients with rising from a bed or gurney, transferring to a wheelchair, and/or returning to a bed or wheelchair.
