Nine yacht care centers from Maine to Florida complete the Hinckley offering by providing service, refits, transportation and storage for a pinnacle ownership experience. We are seeking an Experienced Marine Outboard Mechanic/Technician for our Stamford CT Location. Job Summary The individual must have a thorough knowledge of various outboard motors, troubleshooting, repair, stern drives and outdrives. The individual must demonstrate the ability to interpret job specifications, instruction manuals, and manufacturer's handbooks. Must be able to work with customers directly. The individual must also have a working knowledge of boats’ electrical and mechanical systems as well as installing new outboard engines with controls and accessories. General Accountabilities • Proficient in various outboard engines such as Mercury, Honda, Evinrude, Suzuki and Yamaha. • Experience in all areas of sterndrive and outboard repair and maintenance. • Experience in electrical diagnosis. • Willingness to work with others. • Some travel within the local area. • Clean and maintain all equipment as required. • Troubleshoot problems with all equipment as it arises. • Will work with other mechanical systems within mechanical shop as needed. • Ability to work any assigned shift and ability to work assigned overtime. • Willing and able to educate themselves with OEM technical training/requirements. • Ability and willingness to “flex” to any position in the department to assist with team goals. Must provide own tools. Outboard Equipment Certified
Responsibilities
The Outboard Technician will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing various outboard motors and stern drives. They will also work directly with customers and maintain equipment as required.
