THE ROLE

Imagine this: It’s Tuesday afternoon and there are several thousand packages in front of you, a snapshot of the day’s work. Each one has been carefully prepared, neatly organized, and ready to be picked up for delivery. You glance down to your right and start to read the addresses: Miami, Medellin, London, Johannesburg, Auckland, Iqaluit, Gaborone. This basket of parcels represents a gateway to the widest reaches of planet Earth, the final step between our company, and our adoring cult-like army of super fans.
Of course, these packages aren’t going to deliver themselves. They require a crack-shot Outbound Shipping Analyst that’s ready, willing, and able to manage a variety of carrier partners. In much the same way that one would be foolish to climb Mount Everest without a guide, our Operations Team relies on your support to conquer the mountain of parcels that pass through our doors each day.
Whether you’re making use of your knowledge of cost forecasting, working with our Customer Experience team to resolve problem orders, or coordinating carrier review meetings, you’re the connective tissue between our organization and the outside world. It’s thanks to your white glove service mentality that all of the right packages are reaching the right people. All of the high-level logistics work that our customers expect and demand from us? You’re the one that we look to and trust to get it done.
As the sun sets and the receiving door closes for the last time, you reflect on the day’s work. A mountain of packages, all of them bound for the distant corners of the globe. Not a single one was delayed - not even the one to Gaborone. Two strains of thought dominate your mind: first, you don’t even know where Gaborone is. The second is that you can’t wait to do it all over again tomorrow.

THE RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

In order to make a positive impact as part of our team, your focus in this role will be:

Logistics Management

  • Maintain shipping sheets, ensuring accurate rates, carrier changes, and delivery timelines are updated to support accurate quoting and operational efficiency.
  • Update monthly fuel estimates by ensuring accurate cost forecasting and budget control by refreshing estimates on the first of each month to enable precise Weighted Average Cost per Shipment (WACSP) calculations.
  • Maintain Shipping Destination Page by regularly updating the page to reflect current country and courier availability, ensuring transit time averages shown at checkout match operational realities.
