In this role, you will partake in our growing ambulatory team as an Outpatient Clinical Care Assistant, where collaboration, adaptability, and patient-centered care are at the heart of everything we do. In this role, you’ll support both clinical and administrative functions including rooming patients and taking full vital signs, updating health maintenance records, and managing in-basket tasks like refills, MyChart messages and prior authorizations. You’ll help maintain a smooth, well-stocked clinical environment and play a key role in ensuring efficient daily operations. As part of a newly established ambulatory site, you’ll be joining a highly engaged, team-driven environment with strong leadership support and a shared commitment to exceptional care Caregivers in this role will work day shifts from around 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with possible alternate start and end times based off department needs. Potential evenings and weekends to meet organizational needs. Caregivers should also be aware that there may be floating to other locations as needed. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Complete the rooming process, including vitals, height, weight, and completion of intake questions and documents and reports abnormal findings to RN or LIP. Collect patient specimens, perform Point of Care Testing, and prepare specimens for transport to the lab. Prepare patients for exams, tests and procedures and assist with exams, treatments and procedures using sterile techniques as applicable. Perform patient treatments as directed, to include the application of heat or cold, simple sterile dressing changes, and application and removal of casts, braces, and splints. Assist with wound care under the direction of the LIP. Document in the electronic health record and assists with management of in-baskets and closure of care gaps. Assist with setting up the clinic for daily operations and closing clinic in accordance with departmental guidelines. Collaborate with members of the health care team to promote the delivery of patient care and the overall functioning of the department. Initiate CPR and other emergency measures as required. Assist in regulatory and safety monitoring and compliance audits as directed. Stock supplies and linens as applicable. Cleans, monitors expiration dates and restocks dressing supply cart, checks AED units and oxygen tanks, and empties needle boxes using appropriate safety measures. Maintain all designated work areas in a clean and orderly manner. Perform administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, patient outreach, and patient registration. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: High school diploma or GED Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) Minimum one-year recent health care experience in a hospital, ambulatory, homecare, assistant living, nursing home or long-term care setting Our caregivers continue to create the best outcomes for our patients across each of our facilities.
