Description
A person who possesses registration Registered Dietitian or registration eligible Registered Dietitian Eligible in the profession of dietetics.  This person provides or teaches normal and therapeutic diets to individuals and groups, modifies diets for special populations, performs nutrition assessments on individuals, and makes recommendations to improve nutritional status.   REPORTS TO: Chief Clinical Dietitian Qualifications: 1.  Registered Dietitian or Registered Dietitian Eligible through an American Dietetic Association (ADA) accredited internship program.   2.  Must maintain a current Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation certification, in compliance with corporate CPR Policy. 3.  Eligible appointees not actively registered as a Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration will have twelve (12) months from date of appointment to become registered or be removed from the position.     4.  Experience with special nutritional needs. 5.  A working knowledge of cultural foods, particularly Hispanic. 6.  Thorough working knowledge of business English, spelling, punctuation, and contemporary general office practices and procedures. 7.  Math skills sufficient to prepare routine spreadsheets, calculate/balance invoices/expense reports. 8.  Basic leadership skills. 9.  Demonstrated supervisory skills sufficient to supervise dietetic interns. 10. Computer skills in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.), electronic health record systems, and database systems. 11. Typing/data entry skills sufficient to meet production requirements. 12. Effective verbal and written communication skills to communicate clearly and effectively with patients and others.  13. Very effective oral and written communications skills including public speaking experience. 14. Effective work organization skills.  15. Ability to work effectively as a team player. 16. Ability to be flexible and work in a changing environment. 17. Sensitivity to the different cultures represented among members and staff. 18. Demonstrated ability to listen and communicate with others in a professional and caring manner including sensitivity with individuals from diverse cultures and lifestyles. 19. Demonstrated ability to set priorities for tasks to work effectively in spite of interruptions and under minimal supervision.   Self-starter, reliable and dependable.  20. Demonstrated proficiency with the electronic health record database within three months of attending training session(s).    21. Fluency in English (speak, read and write). 22. Fluency in Spanish (speak, translate, read and write) is required. 23. Ability to solve problems and make routine recommendations. 24. Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality about health care and other patient/client information. 25.
