Outpatient Services Medical Coordinator This is a full time position located in Dothan, Alabama. Work hours of this position are Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm Position will require on call, after hours, holiday and/or weekend work.     Position Summary: Manages the day-to-day functions of the Outpatient Medical Assistants. Assure the flow of normal medical activities as relates to outpatient functions.  Ensure even flow of job tasks and work completed, working with staff on problem areas, developing and implementing solutions.  Position will require on call after hours, holidays, and/or weekend work.                       Duties of this position include:   1.         Perform supervisory responsibilities.              A.  Participate in evaluating medical staff of Adult Outpatient Services.             B.   Supervise medical staff at Adult Outpatient Services.             C.   Assume responsibility for coordinating job assignments, scheduling of leave and absences.             D.   Act as a liaison between the medical staff and clerical coordinator/clinical supervisor regarding outpatient                     matters.             E.    Act as liaison between medical staff and consumers regarding medical issues/concerns.             F.    Assist in ensuring an even flow of job tasks and assists in monitoring work, issues and implementing                       solutions regarding medical staff.             G.    Monitoring and training of outpatient medical staff as needed.    2.          Coordinate with Administration.              A.       Coordinate with IT Department regarding EMR for medical staff in facilitating error corrections.              B.       Act as a liaison between outpatient medical staff and the business office regarding patient accounts, failed                        claims, etc.   3.         Performs medical reviews of charts as needed.   4.         Perform other duties as assigned including but not limited to the following:             A.  Attend and organize any training sessions required to be in accordance with state/personnel standards.             B.  Coordinate correction of punch time errors with Administration.             C.  Maintain travel vouchers on an as needed basis.             D.   Ensure all documentation is completed and up to date prior to taking annual leave.   5.         Regular attendance with timely arrival and departure according to scheduled hours.              A.   Must be able to work full time with rotating assignments as necessary to include but not limited to overtime                      hours, nights, and/or weekends as scheduled.               B.  To ensure client/employee safety while on duty, must remain awake during scheduled                    working hours.      REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:   Any combination of training and experience equivalent to: * Must be a Certified or Registered Medical Assistant * Three (3) years experience in medical clinical setting required * Possession of a valid Alabama driver license.
