Description The Intensive Outpatient Program Supervisor (Supervisor) directs, leads, and manages the IOP/Group Program (program), including the supervision of the therapists, that are responsible for services provided by the program. This position organizes, manages, and supervises the delivery of services to assure these services are provided in a timely, accessible, efficient, and effective manner and accordance to our mission and vision statements. The supervisor will evaluate the effectiveness of the program/personnel and provide recommendations to the management team for growth opportunities of the program. Requirements Roles and Responsibilities Leadership/Management: • The Supervisor provides effective communication, coaching, counseling and motivation with their employees and clients. Prepares performance assessments and reviews productivity goals to increase productivity and employee engagement. This includes creating a talent gap analysis of the clinicians and handling deficiencies within this analysis through the policies and procedures. • The Supervisor will effectively handle conflict resolution as set forth by the agency. Effective conflict resolution will be achieved through effective communication and a mindset of win-win for the parties involved in the conflict. • The Supervisor will review financial results and/or budgeting with the Director of Outpatient to assist in the overall business/marketing and strategic planning of the program. This includes reviewing costs, revenue sources and/or other variables that affect the profitability of the program. Other: • Provides 24-hour coverage as assigned. • Co-facilitates staff meetings. • Must comply with Agency policies and procedures, including those regarding conduct, ethics, confidentiality, and record keeping. Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in the human services or substance abuse field from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, and/or related field, with a master’s degree in one of the above disciplines preferred. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must be licensed or eligible for licensure or provisional licensure as a Mental Health Practitioner and/or Licensed Alcohol Drug Counselor or Social Worker in Nebraska. Must have or be willing to acquire and maintain Criminal Justice Provider endorsement within six months of employment. Must be a licensed driver with a driving/safety record that meets the guidelines of the agency. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Competencies) To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities: • Possess the financial skills necessary to assist in the development, monitoring and revising of the program budget and the financial success of the program. • The Supervisor must have effective communication and leadership skills and provide a positive culture within the program. Handling conflict resolution effectively and provide an environment to have difficult conversations and have the mindset of valuing differences with members of their team, management, and/or associates. • The Supervisor must have strong written communication skills with ability to articulate in writing their thoughts, opinions, and facts with the objective of influencing others and/or implementing an effective communication strategy. • Must demonstrate effective critical thinking skills and understand ramifications and/or unintended consequences of decision-making. • The Supervisor must have strong organizational and time management skills. These skills are vital to the overall success of the program including regulatory and agency policies and procedures. • The Supervisor must understand the policies and procedures of the agency, including other programs. Knowledge of other programs/processes is vital to the overall success of the agency. Other Requirements: • Must be at least 21 years of age. • Successful completion of background checks/references including a valid driver’s license. The driving record must be in accordance with the agency’s guidelines. • If in lived substance abuse recovery, two years of continuous sobriety/ “clean time” is required and maintained throughout employment. • Willing to obtain a flu shot annually (except for those allergic to the vaccine or who have a religious exception) or must wear a mask when agency deems appropriate due to times of high illness. • Must comply with agency policies and procedures, including those regarding conduct, confidentiality, and record keeping.
Responsibilities
The Outpatient Supervisor directs and manages the Intensive Outpatient Program, overseeing therapists and ensuring timely and effective service delivery. They evaluate program effectiveness and recommend growth opportunities to the management team.
