Description Position Summary The Outreach Coordinator plays a key role in connecting individuals and families in Elgin and surrounding communities to vital social services and resources. This position is responsible for developing and implementing outreach strategies, building strong relationships with community partners, and increasing awareness of the organization’s programs among underserved and hard-to-reach populations. The ideal candidate is community-centered, culturally responsive, and passionate about advancing equity and access to services. This position will end on June 30, 2026. Key Responsibilities Community Outreach & Engagement Plan and conduct outreach activities throughout Elgin and neighboring communities, including community events, tabling, workshops, and presentations. Serve as a trusted representative of the organization in the community. Engage community partners and community members in a respectful, culturally responsive manner to assess needs and connect them to appropriate services. Partnership Development Build and maintain collaborative relationships with local nonprofits, schools, healthcare providers, faith-based organizations, government agencies, and community groups. Represent the organization at coalitions and community meetings. Identify opportunities for referrals and joint outreach initiatives. Organization Promotion & Enrollment Support Promote organizational programs and services to increase participation and awareness. Support outreach efforts related to housing stability, benefits access, workforce development, health, or other core social services (depending on organizational focus). Data Collection & Reporting Track outreach activities, contacts, and outcomes using internal data systems. Prepare reports summarizing outreach efforts, trends, and community needs. Share community feedback and emerging issues with program and leadership teams. Administrative & Team Support Assist with development of outreach materials and messaging. Coordinate logistics for outreach events, including scheduling, supplies, and partner communication. Participate in staff meetings, training, and organizational initiatives. Requirements Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Public Health, Community Development, or a related field; or equivalent relevant experience (preferred, but not required). At least 1–2 years of experience in community outreach, social services, or nonprofit work. Strong knowledge of Elgin, IL and surrounding communities, including community resources and service systems. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and maintain accurate records. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for local travel. Preferred Qualifications Bilingual (Spanish/English) strongly preferred (not required). Experience working with low-income, immigrant, or marginalized populations. Familiarity with trauma-informed, strengths-based, and equity-centered approaches. Experience using data tracking systems or client management databases. Please note that the indicated base salary is provided in good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.
