UQ Library This is a full-time continuing position with salary in the range $102,565.37 - $111,686.39 (HEW 7), plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%. Lead a proactive, strategic outreach role supporting the Faculty of Engineering, Architecture, and Information Technology (EAIT), acting as the crucial link between academic staff and Library services. Based at our picturesque and conveniently located St Lucia campus About This Opportunity We are seeking a proactive Outreach Librarian to lead strategic engagement services that directly enhance scholarly and research activities across designated areas. This vital role focuses on; leading proactive outreach to enhance teaching and learning outcomes strategically partnering with academic staff to directly and tangibly benefit their academic endeavours and research projects. Key responsibilities will include: Strategic Engagement and Partnerships Proactively engage with academic staff and researchers to maintain a strong understanding of their research, scholarship, and teaching. You will identify opportunities for strategic research and teaching support and develop effective partnerships across the UQ community (e.g., with ITaLI). Service Development and Promotion Lead the promotion and marketing of Library services and resources, and initiate innovative, scalable new services to meet academic needs. You will proactively support the management of the Library collections in collaboration with academics to enhance teaching, learning, and research. Information Literacy and Expertise In collaboration with Library staff, design, develop, deliver, and evaluate information and digital literacy programs (face-to-face and online). You will maintain an in-depth knowledge of advanced, discipline-specific information services, including scholarly publishing, research evaluation, and metrics. Team Leadership and Improvement Supervise and lead designated staff and coordinate a range of activities within service areas and projects. You will actively contribute to service improvement, participating in overall analysis, planning, and management, and ensuring effective communication while modelling the UQ Library Way. About You Hold relevant qualifications for associate membership of the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA). You possess a substantial understanding of the changing nature of librarianship and demonstrated ability to rapidly adapt with new challenges and opportunities. Possess substantial experience in an academic, special or research library including demonstrated knowledge of current trends in research, learning and teaching within an academic institution such as open scholarship, research outputs and impact and research data management, and an understanding of the value library services can add. High level knowledge of information resources, services and publishing trends including current tools and technologies used in academic libraries, with in-depth knowledge of resources in one or more subject areas Ability to design, lead, provide and evaluate client focused information and digital literacy programs through a variety of flexible delivery options. Demonstrated ability to evaluate, design, develop, deliver and market library and information services in a higher education environment. Excellent interpersonal, advocacy, and communication skills, with demonstrated emotional intelligence and the ability to negotiate, demonstrate diplomacy and tact, and effectively build relationships with a diverse group of senior stakeholders, colleagues, and staff. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to develop effective solutions. Ability to demonstrate the capabilities associated with this position in particular self- leadership, accountability and adaptability and flexibility in a changing environment. Excellent team player working collaboratively with others, with a positive and cooperative attitude and a mindset of inclusivity and support for colleagues.
