WE ARE LOOKING FOR A RESILIENT AND COMMITTED INDIVIDUAL WHO HAS AN UNDERSTANDING OF THE PROBLEMS FACED BY INDIVIDUALS FINDING THEMSELVES HOMELESS OR IN INSECURE ACCOMMODATION AND WHO ENJOYS A CHALLENGE. EXPERIENCE OF WORKING WITHIN SUBSTANCE MISUSE WOULD BE BENEFICIAL, ALTHOUGH WE WILL PROVIDE TRAINING.

  • Evidence of continuous professional development - OCN/NVQ level 3 or equivalent or willing to achieve this within 12 months.
  • Demonstrable experience working in the fields of outreach, housing/homelessness health, social care, criminal justice, domestic abuse, or another specialist setting
  • Successful track record of working with substance misuse clients
  • Resilient and the ability to prioritise and work under pressure
  • Knowledge and understanding of health and safety, including assessing high-risk situations for service users
  • Knowledge and understanding of homelessness, assessment, care planning and key working
  • Ability to build effective relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders Ability to work effectively as a team player.
  • Full UK Driving Licence and own transport (the role will involve travelling to a variety of centres across Cornwall)
  • Ability to work flexible and unsocial hours as required
    Due to the outreach basis of this role, a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is required. The post holder will be required to work 37.5 hours per week with occasional weekend work.

Responsibilities

IN THIS EXCITING ROLE YOU WILL BE JOINING A TEAM OF PEOPLE WHO HOLD CASELOADS AND WORK WITH THOSE SLEEPING ROUGH OR IN INSECURE ACCOMMODATION, INCLUDING EMERGENCY ACCOMMODATION AND HOSTELS TO OFFER HARM REDUCTION, ASSESSMENT AND ACCESS TO A RANGE OF TREATMENT OPTIONS. AS AN OUTREACH RECOVERY WORKER YOU WILL BE MEETING PEOPLE IN THEIR SPACE MORE OFTEN THAN IN AN OFFICE.
