Description
Rivers Health is seeking a full-time outreach service technician with phlebotomy training.   This position is responsible for receiving, verifying and processing outreach laboratory orders from outreach facilities/nursing homes utilizing the Hospital's outreach services.    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:   1. Receives and assures accuracy of outreach laboratory specimens,      verifies demographics, registers patients with high rate of      accuracy.      1. Takes messages from outreach facilities/nursing homes and forward      timely and accurately to Coordinator of Outreach Services or other      appropriate hospital personnel/department.   1. Perform other clerical department duties as assigned or requested.   1. Follows safety and infection control policies of the laboratory and      all other hospital and department policies and procedures.    1. Participates in all mandated inservice programs on an annual basis.      1. Demonstrates excellence in customer service skills.   1. Fosters an atmosphere of teamwork and collaboration.      1. Participates in quality improvement activities including serving on      quality improvement teams.   1. Complies with Corporate Policies, Departmental Policies and      Procedures and Employee Handbook.   1. Utilizes centrifuge as needed.   1. Other duties that may be assigned.   1. Scan documents as needed.   1. Assist with client billing, SVI as needed.   1. Collects specimens from patients in a manner that supports the guest relations policy of the hospital. Using 2 identifiers.      1. Identify, accession, and distribute samples within department      policy and procedure.         1. Prepare samples properly for testing by reference laboratory in      appropriate fashion. (ie: DHL, Airborne, Fedex, US Mail, etc.)         1. Ensures that adequate supplies are available to complete anticipated volume of testing.      1. Follows safety and infection control policies of the laboratory and      all other hospital and department policies and procedures.   1. Participates in all mandated inservice programs on an annual basis.   1. Demonstrates excellence in customer service skills.   1. Fosters an atmosphere of teamwork and collaboration.   1. Participates in quality improvement activities including serving on      quality improvement teams.       1. Complies with Corporate Policies, Departmental Policies and      Procedures and Personnel Employee Handbook.   1. Stocks and cleans work areas as required.   1. Performs general clerical duties, including filing, answering      phones, greeting all customers, distributing patient reports.   1. Provide courier services as directed by supervisor to outside      accounts, utilizing private or corporate owned vehicles.   1. On call as directed.   1. Respond to all calls within a 15-minute time frame.   1. Must have cell phone close by and charged accordingly.       Qualifications     EDUCATION AND FORMAL TRAINING:   Completion of high school or equivalent.  Specialized training in secretarial/computer recommended.  Valid driver's license with a good driving record required. Phlebotomy training from a Licensed Program   WORK EXPERIENCE:   Three to six months preferred.
