Pay Rate: $21.00/hourly

Preferred Experiences/Skillset:

• Customer service + Hospitality
• Background working with the unhoused population
• Social work degree/certification
• Ability to administer Narcan
• Ability to work outdoors in ALL weather conditions

Required Experiences/Skillset:

• Deescalation skills
• Emotional intelligence
• Document preparation
• Public speaking

Preferred Certification:

• CPR or First Aid

Required Licensure:

• TX Drivers License w/ clean driving record

Shift Specifics:

• Offering PART-TIME schedule
• Weekdays, day shift
• Occasional weekend and night availability encouraged

The starting pay for this position is $21.00 per hour.

ALL ABOUT BEING AN OUTREACH SPECIALIST

Block by Block is looking for people who are committed to improving their communities by working with persons needing to develop relationships and connecting them with available social services. Outreach Ambassadors deliver compassion and make a difference through the following:
o Frequently interact with persons living on the street to build relationships of trust
o Have a strong understanding of the variety of social services available to persons in need within their community and can suggest the right services to those who are ready to help themselves
o Can respond when merchants or visitors call to request engagement with someone who may be in need, to help deescalate and redirect activities
o Document actions and efforts made in helping individuals
