Description:

ABOUT THE JOB:

As an Outreach Support Worker, you will be working on the frontline in Dublin city helping people who need it the most. Your role will involve offering essential support services, connecting them to vital resources and advocating for their needs.
We provide with 10 training days throughout the year, ensuring you have the support and training to succeed in this role. We provide regular supervision sessions, based on the individual needs of the person, focusing on increasing knowledge and skills to support professional development and career growth.
This role offers an opportunity to develop your skills in case management, stakeholder relations, advocacy, crisis management skills and more.

Contract Type – Full time Permanent
Working Hours –37.5 hours a week (Hours of work are between 7am and 1am)
Salary: €30,000€/year €30796 after 6 months probation.

REQUIREMENTS:

NFQ level 7 qualification in a relevant field and 6 months relevant experience
Or
NFQ level 6 qualification in a relevant field and 1year of relevant experience
Or
NFQ Level 5 qualification in health, community, or social care and 2 years relevant experience, including experience in a residential setting.
and
Full Irish Driving Licence.

Responsibilities:

Outreach, Engagement & Stakeholders

  • Provide in-reach and out-reach support to rough sleepers.
  • Strong personal skills to build relationships with clients
  • Work as part of the wider outreach team to support clients, and liaise with the Housing First team on an ongoing basis.
  • Developing relationships with key stakeholders such as local authorities, HSE, DRHE, other NGOs.
  • Assist in the running of the mobile health unit.

Client Assessment & Support

  • Identify, conduct counts and monitor hot spots for rough sleepers.
  • Conduct assessments, supporting clients in securing accommodation, residential treatment, and access to medical services.
  • Provide robust signposting service with referrals to relevant services.
  • Implement and deliver harm reduction and mental health interventions and initiatives.

Case Care Management & Health and Safety

  • Work within the case and care management systems and protocols, while meeting the needs of rough sleepers and being respectful and professional.
  • Manage the referral system so clients can access services quickly.
  • Maintain health and safety within the building and on the street.

Crisis respond & Incident Management

  • Respond and follow up on incidents.
  • Assessment and management of risks to ensure the protection of all clients.
