8:30AM – 4:00PM | START ASAP OR SEPTEMBER
Some young people don’t fit into the mainstream school system, not because they don’t want to learn, but because life’s been complicated. That’s where you come in.
I am looking for dedicated and emotionally intelligent Outreach Tutors to work 1:1 with students who are currently not in school. These are young people navigating complex needs, Autism, ADHD, SEMH, often layered with experiences of trauma, family breakdown, gang risk, domestic abuse, and disrupted education.
This isn’t about teaching a class. It’s about reaching one student at a time and helping them rediscover learning at their own pace.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Delivering 1:1 tuition sessions in the community or at home
- Planning and teaching lessons based on the National Curriculum, tailored to the learner’s pace and interests
- Using a trauma-informed and relational approach to build trust and engagement
- Supporting children and teenagers with EHCPs who may have lost faith in education or never felt safe within it
- Liaising with professionals to support safeguarding, learning plans and reintegration when appropriate
Who This Is For:
- Experienced Teaching Assistants or unqualified teachers who are confident working independently
- Future therapists, teachers, psychologists, or anyone who wants a meaningful experience with vulnerable young people
- People who understand behaviour as communication and know how to stay calm under pressure
- Candidates who are flexible, proactive, and ready to travel across Kingston and Richmond boroughs
Essentials:
- Minimum 6 months’ experience supporting students with SEND in a school or specialist setting
- Able to plan and deliver lessons independently, with a solid grasp of the KS2–KS4 curriculum
- Confidence and resilience when supporting students with complex emotional needs
- A full UK driving licence is ideal, but public transport also works, depending on location
Why This Role?
- Make a real, lasting impact in a young person’s life
- No classroom noise, no fixed timetable – just you and your learner, moving at the right pace
- Term-time only, full-time work with no umbrella payroll deductions
- Consistent hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:00pm
- Choose a start date that suits you – either ASAP or September 2025
