Description Brandywine Counseling and Community Services is seeking an Outreach Worker for our PCCP Program! Who we are: Since 1985 Brandywine Counseling & Community Services, Inc. We enhance the quality of life by creatively providing Education, Advocacy, Prevention, Early Intervention and Treatment Services. We promote hope and empowerment to persons and families touched by mental illness, substance abuse, HIV and multiple occurring diagnoses, and their related challenges. What You'll Do as an Outreach Worker with Our PCCP Program: The Outreach Worker is part of a team who engages in on-site outreach programming at BCCS Drop-in centers and statewide in the community with the medical mobile outreach team and the harm reduction team. Distributes condoms, first aid kits, harm reduction supplies, and other materials as directed on mobile vehicle and while conducting outreach activities or in any BCCS drop-in centers. Provides referrals to drug treatment, health care, and social services. Maintains an accurate and current resource and referral source guide. Establishes and maintains working relationships with referral sources. Promotes and advocates new programs and initiatives for new and existing participants and other community members. Drives the BCCS RV or Van to daily mobile outreach sites, home deliveries, and/or events requested by the Supervisor. Provides education materials on HIV/AIDS, HCV, Xylazine, Monkeypox, and any new trends (including but not limited to general information, testing sites, and referrals for care), safer sex, and risk reduction specific areas and specific populations designated in BCCS’s contract and as directed by the Supervisor. Staff's community outreach, education, and/or testing events during the day, in the evening, and/or on weekends, as directed by the Supervisor Staff's the Drop-in Center, including but not limited to sitting at the front reception desk and signing in clients, directing clients to services, such as the laundry, shower, coffee, telephone, or computer, assisting clients with use of drop-in services, including but not limited to the laundry, shower, coffee, telephone, or computer, drop-in HIV and HCV education, testing, and counseling. Enters data into data tracking software. Provides wound care education and assists with wound care clinics both on site and in the community. Collects drug supply samples and ships to drug checking center. Provides case management to clients as needed. Practices in an approach consistent with the philosophies of trauma informed care and recovery-oriented systems of care. Works directly with Gibney Mobile Healthcare on outreach locations and within the community Requirements Qualifications REQUIRED: High school diploma or GED PREFERRED: Associate degree REQUIRED: 6 - 12 months of experience in the behavioral health, substance use, or mental health field PREFERRED: Certified Peer Recovery Specialist or CPRS Eligible REQUIRED: Valid driver's license with 2 points or less REQUIRED: Must be a peer: BCCS employs a diverse workforce, and we especially encourage applications from those who are in recovery. REQUIRED: Minimum of 2 years in recovery Salary Starting at $16/hour Commensurate based on education, experience, and certification! Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Occasional nights and weekends.
